Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!
Seemingly tucked away from public viewing is this following nugget:
./viewtopic.php? ... highlight=
by, there is a new guy in town, zasax99. You MUST look at this.
zasax99 says it's NOT a decompiler.
Still...

On a different subject, does anyone have access to the 'p-code.zip' file at the Script Kiddie Clubhouse (now called Woodmann)? If someone is interested in retrieving it, I would be more than glad to translate it into English.

I haven't been there in a while.
It's not a decompiler, in that it doesn't give you source code. "All" it does (note the parenthesis) is allow IDA to parse the opcodes that VB uses, to give the ML. But that in itself is extremely interesting, as it was the first prog I had seen that has done that. At the time, it was not complete and not all the opcodes were operational; perhaps by now it is finished.
It is a definite step forward, and I salute the effort.

It has been said in the past that ole golem is a little harsh on the Netizens of Mrs. Tsephs clubhouse...
Is it REALLY necessary for me to point out how this latest example just goes to prove the point?
Mr. OneTime did it escape your attention that the file you sent us was for a different language (than VB5/6)? Are you too embarassed to make another attempt (If so, we can supplant this Tsephian file with the right one).
Is it possible you didn't even notice? Hmmm... maybe this explains your slow progress with your VB REing?
We are here to help. No... I've GOT it!
We ache to help.
Carry on!

Well Gee, I wouldn't want to see the good name of the Clubhouse besmirched, I know well how you hold it in such high esteem, and I certainly wouldn't want you to sully your hands by having to register to get the file...
Enjoy, and uh, yeah, Carry on!

Besmirched? Nah... Not me...
Register to get the file? You ARE kidding right? Do you have ANY idea how many posts/ids that have been disappeared from the Clubhouse? No offense Kayaker, but those bozos are STILL headed the wrong direction in terms of the balance between talent and censorship.
It seems to be one of those situations, where the more lacking the skills of the caretakers at the top of the MB heap has been become, the more prevalent the tendency... No! the need to CENSOR becomes. Come on honestly look who you've got at the controls. Just one of many... Ester? Please! I think I hurt myself laughing... It's really not important.
Ah! But there ARE exceptions to most EVERY generality. (Talking about u here Kayaker )... In this case true REs.
Thanks Kayaker! I appreciate your effort and naturally owe you one. I've already cleaned up the text and we'll probably get it translated in the next few days.
If you are you interested in posting the translation when it's completed, I will fire it over to you... or something along those lines.
Thanks again. And yes (of course)...
Carry on!

'course I'm kidding, Orc forbid the unimaginable occurs
Sure, if the translation is useful we can append it to the original thread, with appropriate credits as you wish. I'm sure some people will appreciate the information in English. If you're going to up the file to this forum anyway, I'll just grab it from here. Or you can always post it yourself at the C.H., ... Oh wait, we've already been there
I'm curious what practical points you have to establish the balance you speak of. In general, the only things that are deleted are obvious lame crack-ish requests of various sorts. I don't argue the fact there still exists a script kiddie element, however disguised, in many of the posts, but that's where the gray censorship/free speech line begins and the moderators job usually ends. Not every newbie dependant on an automagic unpacker remains that way, though unfortunately many never expand their mind beyond that point either.
You're behind the times man, you're well aware the establishment is under new management as the saying goes, the name you mentioned was a moderator for a very brief period of time maybe 2 years ago, ancient incidents are ancient history. The only hard "censorship" that occurs is a strict restriction of target-specific related code, our effort at discouraging the shareware script kiddie. ID's are culled on a regular basis anyway for members who have 0 posts and haven't logged in for a certain period of time, simply overhead maintenance of the database. And any infrequent banning is a deserved result of repeated flagrant abuse of the rules, not because of criticism of the Administrators new tool , lol.
So how would you forge a pseudo-RE board that can be of interest and use to those interested in software security, internal systems operations, and anything else that fits the bill, a place for developing skills and sharing knowledge, a place that encourages independant thought and research, and yet remains friendly and sociable, A...,a.., I know, a ClubHouse?
C'mon, you've obviously identified the problems, you must have solutions?
K.

Page 2? (AND 3!)
Thanks.
BTW this link:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/en-us ... pcode2.asp
probably works better than the one included in the original + translation.
Carry on!
